Business leaders recognize the importance of goal setting, yet few are truly effective at using goals to drive business results. Steve Hunt will explain common mistakes that limit the value of goal management and share techniques to address them. He will focus on several simple but frequently overlooked foundational techniques to improve the impact of goal management, discuss what it takes to implement them and talk about the results.

Steven Hunt is principal director of business execution practices at SuccessFactors, where he oversees the development and implementation of technology-enabled business execution solutions to maximize workforce engagement and productivity.

Hunt has more than 20 years’ experience designing business execution and talent management solutions supporting a range of applications including performance management, staffing, employee development, culture change, workforce transformation and succession planning. He has worked with a variety of industries including retail, health care, dining, manufacturing, finance, information technology, transportation and public sector organizations.

Hunt regularly presents at industry and academic conferences as a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator. His articles have appeared in dozens of trade and academic journals ranging from the Wall Street Journal to the International Journal of Selection & Assessment. He is the author of Hiring Success. He also hosts the podcast “Business Execution Radio” where he conducts bi-weekly interviews with experts on techniques for achieving strategic business results.

Hunt holds a Ph.D. in industrial-organizational psychology from The Ohio State University, a B.A. in applied mathematics and psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and professional certification as a Strategic Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society of Human Resource Management.
