Jeffrey Pfeffer Speaks on How to Use Power Effectively
Half Moon Bay, Calif., Feb. 23 — Today, Jeffrey Pfeffer, professor of organizational behavior at Stanford University, opened the three-day Talent Management and Diversity Executive Magazines’ Strategies 2011 conference by delivering an enlightening keynote address titled “The Paths to Power” to more than 200 HR, talent management and diversity executives.
After decades of research, Pfeffer has uncovered the most effective ways to build and exercise influence and has discovered some of the dilemmas and choices people face as they move through their careers in organizations. During this keynote, Pfeffer asked many questions of the audience about the influence of power in their organizations and described new, constructive tactics on how to avoid pitfalls and how to use power in order to be an efficient organization.
